Lead Analytic Consultant (Optimization)

Candidate should also have had exposure to model building tools such as FICO Model Builder, SAS, SPSS, R or Python. The person should exhibit strong leadership skills, mentorship and direction to more junior staff and be equally as comfortable in a role that blends both the business side with technical skills of Analytical modeling.

 

We strongly prefer candidates with real-world experience, broad, big-picture understanding of risk, who can communicate with both business and technical people, as well as understand the challenges institutions face in the decision making process behind the lending process. Position is located in San Rafael, CA (relocation required if not already in the area).

What will you do in this role?

•Manage projects focused on Analytics and Optimization and provide consulting services to clients on a wide range of advanced analytics-based services.

•Consult with clients around adoption and on-going use of DO / Xpress approaches, and identify Analytic and Optimization Professional Services opportunities through client interactions.

•Create high performance optimization models to meet client requirements.

•Develop analytic processes and procedures, working across departments to enhance FICO analytic & optimization tools, techniques and offerings.

*Support the development of Professional Services Analytic solutions using DO / Xpress optimization software.

•Contribute to pricing, hours, budgeting, and contract review and delivery methodology for DO / Xpress Professional Services offerings.

What experience/skills will you need?

•Master's degree or Ph.D. in applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline or equivalent professional experience beyond a BS degree.

•4+ years of experience in optimization solution development with Project Management and client focused delivery experience (travel to client sites when necessary) specifically building optimization models in some of the following categories: logistics, supply chain management, revenue optimization, scheduling optimization, pricing optimization, credit line Increase, Initial credit line and collections.

•Experience with various modeling methodologies in a development role, including the building of risk models/scorecards and decision models.

•Experience working with commercial Mathematical Optimization Software: Xpress, Gurobi, and/or IBM CPLEX with some knowledge/experience in commercial model development platforms such as AIMMS, AMPL, GAMS, OPL, Xpress-Mosel, Concert, MPL.

•Experience with a programming language such as C/Python or a combination of programming languages.

•Successful management in leading teams toward completion of medium scale projects setting priorities, identifying roadblocks and working to get them removed, and understanding the importance of meeting client/internal deadlines. Possess the ability to influence without authority in a matrixed management environment.

Analyste en optimisation au CIRRELT (3-6 mois)

Dans le cadre d'un projet de solution informatisée pour la gestion des stages en santé, réalisée en collaboration avec la Faculté de médecine et les Technologies de l'information de l'Université de Montréal, le CIRRELT est à la recherche d’un analyste en optimisation. La personne devra être disponible dans les meilleurs délais et la durée estimée du projet est de 3 à 6 mois.


L’analyste devra développer un programme permettant de résoudre un modèle d'optimisation par un logiciel commercial de programmation en variables entières, incluant le traitement des données d'entrée et de sortie. Il sera appelé à travailler de près avec les équipes de la Faculté de médecine et des Technologies de l'information. Le titulaire doit être détenteur d’une maîtrise en informatique ou dans une discipline connexe, et posséder des connaissances avancées en recherche opérationnelle.

Senior Operations Research Developer

Job Summary

The OR developer is responsible for participating in the design of new optimization software products and existing product enhancements. This position reports to the development manager and will work closely with the Products team and customers to deliver mission-critical software components. The ideal candidate will possess a variety of skills required for problem solving, resource optimization and data analysis, to be applied in the context of the development of optimized decision making systems. These skills imply the ability to effectively use mathematical modeling, algorithmic/computational thinking and the relevant computing tools.

This is a very hands-on position where the ideal candidate works side-by-side with fellow developers to implement product enhancements and new products while ensuring high-quality development practices. He/she must respect project deadlines and must ensure software quality meets the company’s standards. Excellent communication skills are required, as the position requires close collaboration with fellow developers, Product Managers, architects, and customers. 

At AD OPT, OR developers are challenged with highly complex problems, to be solved using optimizers that must carefully balance solution quality, run times and memory usage. Creativity and modeling skills are key assets that we put to the proof!

Qualifications

• MSc. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Mathematics
• Experience with Operations Research domain (combinatorial optimization, linear programming, network algorithms, CPLEX, etc.)

• Related scientific publication are appreciated.

• Experience with C, Perl, POSIX shells and various scripting languages.
• Experience with source control software such as Git.
• Experience in n-tier environments.
• Knowledge of object oriented, functional, and reactive programming.
• Knowledge of the principles of parallelism.
• Experience with agile development.
• Must be team-oriented, results-oriented and have strong customers focus.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, both written and spoken.
